BASF was honored by Tesla Motors with its Supplier Award for excellence in delivery performance. The awards ceremony was held at Tesla’s Fremont, Calif. manufacturing and engineering complex on Oct. 15. “It is an honor to receive this award. The collaborative relationship we have with Tesla has enabled us to innovate and deliver the performance they need,” said Joe Schmondiuk, Vice President of Global Accounts for BASF Coatings Solutions in North America. Tesla has more than 200 suppliers of which 14 were selected this year to receive special awards. BASF was recognized forexceeding Tesla’s expectations, in particular by “delivering” on new color introductions, improvements in vehicle painting efficiencies, product quality and customer service. BASF is one of the primary suppliers of automotive coatings for Tesla Motors and also supports the car manufacturer with engineering plastics materials.
